ritual guidance

rituals are a vital technology for us.

through ritual we tend emotion, navigate transition and give our attention to what is moving in our life.

weddings / commitment ceremonies

want to break the mold but not sure how?

it is sacred to be held. lets honor what is moving in you

“This concert between the human and the sacred is ancient; it is held in the bones.

Trust this bond. It is our healing ground.”

— Francis Weller, The Wild Edge of Sorrow

ritual is an embodied process that calls our full presence and creativity as humans forward.

through ritual we connect with each other, the earth, and Spirit for healing, transformation, and support.

Ritual might support you during these times:

  • Wedding or commitment ceremony

  • Funeral or memorial service

  • Puberty/Menopause

  • Navigating grief

  • During a life transition

  • During a move/leave-taking/house-blessing

  • To welcome a new child

  • When uncoupling

  • Pet blessing

“We worked with Lucy to design a wedding ceremony that was unique to us and our values. We were looking to create something that would be memorable, incorporate elements of nature and offer a deviation from many of the weddings we'd attended while still offering some comfort in a sense of a new tradition. Going into the planning process, we had a vague idea of what we would (or wouldn't) like, and working with Lucy to prepare for the ceremony helped us draw out our priorities and intentions for the day, and for our lives together as a married couple. Working through this process strengthened our connections and allowed us to consider aspects of our relationship we hadn't before.”

“Lucy was a powerhouse of listening and working with the people when Evergreen left our big church home for somewhere much smaller. She guided us in a leave-taking ritual as we said goodbye to what had been our home for so long. Lucy was particularly good at listening and reflecting with us on our grief and excitement at such a huge change.”

Catherine Hutchison, Memphis, TN

“Working with Lucy for our wedding was a transformational experience. She took the time to really get to know us, our story, our family - which made our ceremony personal and beautiful. By doing this deep work, she helped us create a unique experience that just felt like us. Working with Lucy is perfect for anyone that wants a unique and authentic ceremony. We knew we wanted traditional, with a twist, and Lucy helped guide us there. We highly recommend working with her.”

my approach

After an initial call, I will draft a proposal based on our conversation to support us in the process of co-creating ritual. I often meet with people anywhere from 2-4 sessions to prepare. You then choose how you would like me to relate to the actual ritual (whether I am present or not, for example).

I am committed to bringing a loving presence to tend you and those you gather and I trust that our bodies, Spirit, and the earth will guide and hold us collectively.

I draw upon earth based practices and our shared intuitive wisdom to co-create ritual together. I call in Spirit, the divine, that which is greater than us, and work with language that resonates with you. I am open to weaving in practices from spiritual lineages that are culturally meaningful and resonant with you and your ancestors.

Read more (soon) about how I approach ritual and why I think it is so vital to our way of being.

pricing

Pricing depends on the nature of the ritual and the time commitment.

For weddings I typically charge $1,000 to include 4 sessions, a rehearsal and the ceremony. For funerals/memorials I typically charge $350.
